One of the top questions we receive at the salon is how to keep the build up out of locs (and how to remove lint.) While we haven’t discovered a safe way to remove deeply embedded lint without damaging the integrity of the loc, we HAVE perfected removing build up.

Technically you can remove some build up by shampooing your locs multiple times with a stronger shampoo like a clarifier, but there’s an easier way to detox your locs and not strip them of their nutrients in the meantime. The Salvaged Roots Loc Bomb™ Detox Cleanse was developed with simple clean ingredients and is pH balanced to keep the hair intact.

The powerhouse ingredients are baking soda, which swells the cuticle to free trapped debris and apple cider vinegar, which closes the cuticle and imparts shine. Too much or too little of one of these ingredients can possibly damage your hair. The Loc Bomb™ takes the guesswork out of measurements and when used properly will leave your hair feeling lighter and looking shinier.

The Loc Bomb™ is a pre-shampoo treatment you soak your locs in, followed by your normal shampoo and conditioner routine.

Directions: Unravel ONLY the roots of your locs to loosen up any debris that may be twisted inside. Fill a sink with warm water and soak your locs. Drop the Loc Bomb™ into the water and with a small bowl (optional) catch the Loc Bomb™ with some of the water and pour it over the scalp and the rest of the locs that are not soaking in the water. Repeat until the Loc Bomb™ is fully dissolved. Soak for 20 minutes. Squeeze more of the debris and build up out of the locs, drain the water and then rinse well. Shampoo and Condition as normal. (Extreme cases may require more than one loc bomb treatment.)

Suggested Use: Once every 3 months.
